We welcome you

We welcome you

Our eco-lodge for regenerative tourism is located in a privileged area of Villa La Angostura, Province of Neuquén, Argentina.

Located on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, Savia Madre offers a special place to experience regenerative tourism, enjoy unforgettable views, as well as the best experiences for those who love nature, fishing, sailing, hiking and bird watching. You will find a space covered with native tree and shrub species that radiate a unique energy.

A definite plus of our eco-lodge is its easy access to different public services, businesses, restaurants, gas stations and supermarkets. A bike path along Siete Lagos Avenue connects our lodge with the center of our town, located about two kilometers away.

Villa la Angostura is fifty miles (82 km) away from San Carlos de Bariloche international airport and eighty miles (130 km) from Chapelco airport in San Martín de los Andes.

Our philosophy

At Savia Madre, our eco-lodge of regenerative tourism, we are inspired by the need to hold a systemic view in order to understand the big challenges humanity faces globally. Issues related to social integration and its relationship with nature are at the top of our list: we are aware that all our actions have an impact on others. We know that our quality of life and our health are directly related to the health of the planet. That is why our purpose as a touristic spot is to go beyond the concept of sustainability, of "sustaining" the existing conditions in an economic and social environment. We want to be a model of regenerative tourism in Argentina."

A transformative experience

In designing our eco-lodge, we focused on the integration of all local community actors to support the co-creation of purpose, the co-evolutionary alliances with nature and systemic thinking.

This enables us to develop the capacity of socio-environmental systems for long-term healthy growth and mutually beneficial interactions. Through regenerative tourism we seek to create a visitor-environment connection that will immerse us in a natural and cultural environment. We look to generate profound changes in people, the host community, entrepreneurs, businesses, and the setting.

While developing the project, we sought to minimize the environmental impact on the land and wildlife. We are now faced with the challenge to estimate our carbon footprint and neutralize its impact during our operations.

Our houses

Savia Madre has three amazingly comfortable and fully equipped houses with three en-suite bedrooms, a large living-dining room with a fireplace, kitchen, laundry room and wooden terraces with individual grills and breathtaking views of the lake.

One of our units is adapted for use by people with disabilities and/or reduced mobility. We offer daily cleaning service, weekly linen change and assistance to guests with making their first purchase of supplies before their arrival.

The shared areas include a lobby, an event and recreational room, fitness, yoga and meditation items, massage therapy, kayaks, and bicycles.

Among the trees on-site, you can enjoy a forest spa, including a barrel hot tub, a barrel sauna and an outdoor Scottish shower. Our meandering walkways in the forest lead directly to the lake beach.

Our houses are bursting with art, with artwork displayed in various formats, paintings, photographs, and drawings, many of them by talented young people from Patagonia.

Casa Proa

Its name is inspired by the shape of the land between coihues and cypresses that create the illusion of a ship’s prow.

Casa Arrayán

Following the internal road, we find our second house. It gets its name from a myrtle tree that had to be transplanted.

Casa Javuda

This house is located at the end of the road. Its structure and design are similar to that of Casa Arrayán. It is named after the person who envisioned the Savia Madre project.

Beyond nature conservation

Our biggest challenge as an ecotourism business is to have an impact on socio-cultural aspects.

Besides environmental protection, the conservation of biodiversity and the minimum use of non-renewable resources, you will find your stay at Savia Madre to be a unique transformative learning experience. Our facilities include a shared space for training and interpretation events where various activities can be organized. The houses are fully equipped with energy-efficient appliances, and a state-of-the-art gas-fueled generator in case of power outages. The green roofs also help to lower temperature variations and reduce energy use by boilers. And of course, we engage in source waste separation.

Our organic garden is available to our guests. Thanks to our small solar farm, we can save energy when sunshine permits. Savia Madre has its own sewage treatment plant using natural anaerobic digestion processes.

This concept of integration is reflected in our infrastructure, internal roads, and access roads to the housing units, such as the walkways to the lake and its observation and meditation areas.

We are committed to positively impacting the local community by promoting its local cultural aspects, art in all its forms, education, and institutional strengthening.
